Announcing Fornav 8.3

We are happy to announce the general availability of Fornav 8.3.

At Fornav, we’re constantly looking for new ways to improve, evolve, and take the next step on our journey. With Fornav 8.3, we’re introducing new capabilities and improvements across e-invoicing, AI readiness, Personalized Content, File Service, Source Control, Health Check, Report Settings, and more.

BC29 support

• Support for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central 2026 release wave 2 (BC29).
  

E-invoicing/ZUGFeRD

• Supports ZUGFeRD 2.5, including service invoices and credit memos.
• Added GLN identification for buyers, as well as for items with a GTIN
• Enables Business Central’s native ZUGFeRD generation to be used with Fornav reports.
• Directly download ZUGFeRD JSON and XRechnung XML files from Posted Sales Invoices.
• Additional fixes improve e-document accuracy and validation, including VAT totals and basis amounts, line prices and amounts, buyer contact information, and invoice discounts when using Prices Including VAT.
  

AI readiness

• Improved discoverability of the MCP APIs for AI agents, together with new APIs providing access to report layouts, data contracts, field and table metadata, table relations, and installed application information.
  

Personalized Content

• Text and email templates now support repeater tables, including nested repeaters and field totals, together with new options for related tables and template editing.
• Support for barcodes in text and email templates.
• Improvements and fixes for text and email templates, including health checks, backup and restore, template editing, and email scenario handling.
  
  

File Service

• Now supports Business Central’s External File Storage Connector and includes improved File Service dialogs.
  

Source Control

• Improved with backup and restore of Report Settings, a new Reset action, easier remote branch selection, and improved handling of protected branches, read-only setups, non-empty remote folders, and empty branch names.
  
  

Health checks

• More accurate Report Selection checks and new API capabilities for retrieving detailed report health information and running report health checks.
  

Additional improvements

• New Max Image Size setting can automatically reduce large images before report generation, helping reduce report data size.
• Enhanced translation throughout the application, new per-company Report Settings, better language handling for item attributes, enhancements to report data and extensibility, and fixes to the Trial Balance, Check, Statement, and email scenario handling.
