Upgrading ForNAV Reports to NAV 2017

In NAV 2017, the layout of the Custom Report Layout table (9650) has changed, which means that if you want to upgrade your ForNAV reports to NAV 2017, you have to upgrade to ForNAV version 1.3.0.1006 or newer.

If you have previously converted your reports from “classic” (that is, NAV 2009 and earlier versions) to NAV 2013, 2013 R2, 2015, or 2016, you must reconvert your reports. You must export the converted reports from the NAV version they are running in (NAV 2013, 2013 R2, 2015, or 2016). Do not go back to the classic reports if you have already converted them successfully to NAV 2013, 2013 R2, 2015, or 2016.

To upgrade ForNAV Reports to NAV 2017:

1)      From C/SIDE, export all your ForNAV reports from the previous version to a txt file.

2)      Convert the txt file with the ForNAV converter using your 2017 table layout.

3)      Import the output from the converter with C/SIDE and recompile your reports.

For pre-NAV 2017 RDLC reports and classic reports, you can carry on converting to ForNAV in the same way as you have always done – the output is compatible with all versions from 2013 and later.

The ForNAV runtime is the same for all versions of NAV from 2013, and there is no difference in how the reports are executed, rendered, or printed.
